This was difficult and we could have cast this many ways. Thank you to all who submitted a video audition and those came out to callbacks. We appreciate the hard work you all have put forth. We can't wait to start rehearsals.

You've been invited to join Newsies as a cast member. Download the RehearScore mobile app to get started! username "newsies" password "80255181".

NOTE: Newsies is an ENSEMBLE HEAVY musical. MOST actors who audition will be cast as ensemble. Also, due to the large interest in this production, auditions will be very competitive and sign-up does NOT guarantee that the student will be casted with speaking lines. Like last year, many students auditioning were casted as ensemble. Though this may be disappointing to some, NEWSIES has many exciting supporting and ensemble roles. It is the goal of the directors to make sure each student feels special in some way!

PRIOR TO PARTICIPATING,
A PARENT or GUARDIAN MUST ATTEND THE MANDATORY INTEREST MEETING
OCTOBER 9th, 3:30-4:15, Hope Campus
*A video recording will be made available to those who are unable to attend.*
​AUDITION PROCESS - for the ACTOR:
  1. READ the Audition Materials Packet with your parent or guardian in its entirety. (Paying close attention to the rules and expectations)
  2. ATTEND the mandatory interest meeting. (Students are encouraged to attend with their parent, however one parent MUST attend prior to submitting an audition, please.
  3. COMPLETE the electronic Audition Form (includes conflict calendar and contract) The completion of this form is MANDATORY for ALL
  4. REHEARSE the audition monologue/vocal OR dance audition required. Those desiring a character that requires an audition, should choose one role to audition for.  ****No need to audition for multiple Characters, you should only audition for ONE character and specify your top 4 roles you would like to be considered for on the Audition form.*****
  5. RECORD yourself performing the required audition pieces. *NOTE: an audition video is NOT required for those who are wanting to be considered for ENSEMBLE, only the Electronic Audition Form is required.
  6. SUBMIT your Video via Google Drive AFTER you have completed the Audition Form. *Share or send video to [email protected]  - audition deadline October 26th by 8pm.
  7. CALLBACKS list will be posted no later than November 10th and will be in-person November 17th, 3:20pm-7:30pm (specific time slots will be given)
  8. First rehearsal December 5th , 8:30pm-12pm at Hope Campus.

APPLICATION PROCESS - for Crew:
(NEWSIES will not need a large backstage crew, only a few students will be chosen for crew.)
  1. READ the audition info rules and requirements with your parent or guardian in its entirety.
  2. COMPLETE the Electronic Crew Application (mandatory) *submission deadline is NOVEMBER 28th
  3. While Backstage Crew is not needed until later in the rehearsal process, we would like Backstage Crew to check the rehearsal calendar frequently.  Tech is needed at most rehearsals, please check rehearsal calendar frequently.  (Crew will be needed at FRIDAY rehearsals beginning FEBRUARY 27th, HOWEVER, crew may attend ANY of the  Friday rehearsals to prepare and begin to move props and set pieces)

Dance Team Audition -  (For those who wish to be on the dance team, these individuals will be featured dancers throughout the show performing at a higher level choreography.)

 NOTE: we are not looking for perfection, we are looking for rhythm and a willingness to learn.
